Drones4Energy is an innovative drone project funded by the Innovationsfond. The project contributes to the state of the art of electrical and communication engineering technologies to build a fully autonomous drone system that can charge itself from overhead powerline cables. The overarching goal of the project is to deliver a collaborative drone system that can inspect the power grid in a highly efficient way.



Goals

Drones4Energy aims at building a collaborative, autonomous, and long fly drone system that will be offered to powerline operators to inspect the power grid accurately, frequently, and autonomously.

Vision

By importing high-voltage energy harvesting techniques, machine-learning algorithms, and long-range wireless communication technologies into the drone area, Drones4Energy will be able to mature the power line inspection industry much faster.
